Applicants must meet certain requirements to become a City of Erie Firefighter. All qualifications are set by the City of Erie Civil Service Board. For a list of all qualification requirements, visit: efd.erie.pa.us/qualify
Applications are handled by the City of Erie Human Resources Office. Applications will be accepted from April 15 to May 31, 2019. There is a $30 application fee and a $20 study guide fee, which are payable online or at the Human Resources Office at City Hall. To apply online, visit: efd.erie.pa.us/apply
To apply in person at the Human Resources Office at City Hall, bring your high school diploma/GED, or equivalent; valid driver’s license; birth certificate; and DD-214 form (if applicable) to:

Applicants must pass the Fire Police Select Incorporated (FPSI) written test and Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT). Military service time is the only qualifier for additional points to the written test. Written tests will be July 13, 2019 at LECOM.
